Aristotle - in the 5th century - had already described something defined as an apparatus to capture images. In the Renaissance, artists used a game of mirrors and reflections, inspired by the studies of Leonardo da Vinci in caves, to work on images projected on paper. A few centuries have gone by, between the discovery of silver nitrate and that of its chloride, essential elements for the development and the printing of pictures. In 1822 the first "permanent" image on paper was realized and after only a couple of decades, photography would become a technique available to everyone. The majority of photos, even if preserved with care, will show defects related to light exposure: the classic sepia toning, less sharp shadows and lights, smudged or modified colors. A number of these problems can be resolved, others simply limited and corrected. The real challenge is to "repair" rips and tears or erase scratches and stains. The result is not guaranteed, but you can put us to the test!
